He discovered a passion for art at age ten, encouraged by a teacher who noticed his talent, though music dominated his teenage years before drawing pulled him back around eighteen, leading him through courses in Paris and Geneva. In 1987 he settled in the province of Vicenza, where he fell for sculpture and began experimenting with the local stone alongside marble, wood, and clay. Largely self-taught, he studied informally with sculptor Agostino Gallio and ceramicist Antonio Visentin.
