Created in 1998, the work juxtaposes an open latticework of welded metal rods with a subtle ceramic base, softened by earthy brass accents. Rising vertically like an abstract architectural fragment, the piece conveys both monumentality and lightness, its form at once skeletal and precise. Two small brass flags crown the top, introducing a poetic note of whimsy to an otherwise geometric structure.

Zwetsloot’s practice often explores the dialogue between architecture, structure, and symbolism, translating everyday materials into sculptural compositions that hover between object and model, fragility and permanence. Her work sits comfortably at the intersection of contemporary design and fine art, appealing to collectors drawn to experimental use of form and material.

This piece, with its architectural clarity and delicate surface presence, makes a commanding yet contemplative statement in any interior.

Dimensions

Height: 36 cm (14.17 in.)

Depth: 44 cm (17.32 in.)

Provenance

From the artist’s studio.

The sculpture will be shipped insured overseas in a custom made wooden crate.
