Mid century white ceramic globe table lamp "La Luna" by Pagani & Pellegrini for Gabbianelli, Italy, 1967

La Luna, "the moon", is a sculptural Italian ceramic table lamp designed in 1967 by Paola Pagani and Carlo Pellegrini for the ceramic manufacturer Gabbianelli. It is made of two glazed white hemispheres stacked with a narrow gap between them. The light source sits inside that gap, so the lamp gives both direct and reflected light. The effect is a soft glow around the equator of the globe, like a moon at rest.

The lamp comes from the golden age of Italian ceramic lighting, when Space Age forms and glossy glazes turned a table lamp into a design statement. It works as a bedside, console or sideboard light, and as a sculptural object when switched off.

La Luna will be shipped insured overseas in a custom made wooden crate. Cost of transport to the US, Euro 275, is crate included. Price for one lamp.
