A striking mid-century table lamp by the celebrated Australian atelier Barsony Ceramics, dating from the 1950s. This sculptural lamp features the signature Black Lady figure — elegantly poised with one hand on her hip and the other supporting a bowl that forms the lamp base. The piece exudes the sensual, exotic aesthetic that made Barsony’s creations so iconic during the postwar era.
The lamp’s black satin glaze is beautifully contrasted by white striped detailing on the skirt and highlighted with subtle gold accents. Retains its original hand-painted features, including the red lips and gold hoop earrings typical of Barsony’s stylized figures. The cream pleated shade complements the soft curves of the ceramic form, casting a warm, ambient glow.
