Kumi SugaïKumi Sugaï — “Le Printemps”, 1970
Original Color Lithograph | Signed & Numbered | Edition of 100
Bold, vibrant, and unmistakably modern, Le Printemps (French for “Spring”) by celebrated Japanese-French artist Kumi Sugaï (1919–1996) radiates both seasonal joy and structural elegance. This striking composition—executed in 1970 and printed in Japan—features a bright emerald green biomorphic shape hovering above dynamic pink and white diagonal gradients, framed in deep ultramarine blue. The interplay of pure color fields and geometric abstraction reflects Sugaï’s mastery in blending Eastern minimalism with Western modernist forms.
This work is part of a limited edition of 100—hand-signed and numbered (55/100) in pencil by the artist. Sugaï’s control of color and spatial rhythm gives this lithograph a sculptural presence that enhances any contemporary interior or art collection.
