This timeless work, cast in Italy, captures Mendini’s vision of design as both a functional and metaphysical pursuit. It bears the authentic AM initials stamped on the back—a hallmark of its provenance and exclusivity.

Mendini, a pioneer of postmodern design, approached Lassù as more than just a sculptural object—it’s a philosophical statement. The title, meaning “Up There” in Italian, suggests a dialogue between earthly existence and transcendence. The angular, geometric form—evoking both a throne and a temple—encourages contemplation of ascension and the infinite. This duality between the grounded and the celestial defines Mendini’s deeply intellectual yet playful approach to design.

Unlike later reproductions by the Vitra Design Museum in 1996 or the limited editions by Short Stories, this Lassù is part of the scarce and sought-after original series. It exemplifies the craft, precision, and authenticity of 1980s Italian bronze casting, a medium Mendini used to connect timeless materiality with avant-garde ideas.

For collectors, Lassù represents an irreplaceable piece of design history—a tangible connection to Mendini’s philosophical and aesthetic legacy.
