An exceptional and iconic example of early 20th-century Viennese design, this Cabinett Lounge Chair, originally conceived by Josef Hoffmann in 1903, is a masterwork of geometric clarity and refined craftsmanship. Produced by the prestigious Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten in Austria, this piece stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Hoffmann’s design principles and the impeccable production standards of Wittmann.

This lounge chair features its original sky-blue mohair velvet upholstery, adorned with subtle floral relief motifs that elegantly echo Hoffmann’s love for ornamentation within a rationalist framework. The upholstery remains in excellent condition, retaining its vibrant color and luxurious texture—rare for a chair of this vintage.

Set within a structured black lacquered wood frame with bold right angles and a box-like form, the chair exudes modernist sophistication while maintaining a warm, inviting presence. A distinctive fusion of form and function.

His works are celebrated for their elegant balance of austerity and decoration, making him one of the most influential figures in 20th-century design.
