Antonio LupiElegant pair of 1960s Italian Murano glass wall sconces by Antonio Lupi
A striking and sculptural pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1960s, attributed to Antonio Lupi. These refined fixtures embody the quiet sophistication of mid-century Italian modernism, where light, material, and form merge seamlessly.
Each sconce features a beautifully curved oval glass diffuser, combining frosted and clear elements to create a soft, atmospheric glow. The central vertical spine—rendered in warm-toned translucent material—adds both structure and a subtle architectural rhythm, while a discreet central mount anchors the composition with minimalist precision.
When illuminated, the sconces emit a warm, diffused light that enhances the layered transparency of the glass, producing an elegant interplay of reflection and depth—hallmarks of high-quality Italian glass design of the period.
A rare and highly decorative pair, ideal for refined interiors seeking authentic mid-century Italian lighting with sculptural presence.

About the Designer
Antonio Lupi was an Italian designer and entrepreneur who founded his company in Tuscany in the early 1950s. Beginning as a small artisan workshop specializing in crystal and glass, he quickly expanded into mirrors, lighting, and decorative objects before evolving into a major force in Italian design.
By the 1960s, his company—then known as Cristal Lupi Luxor—was already producing refined lighting and glass furnishings, reflecting the Italian mastery of material and craftsmanship.
Over time, the brand (now antoniolupi) became internationally recognized for its minimalist, architectural approach to interiors, particularly in bathroom and lighting design. The company collaborated with notable designers such as Carlo Colombo, Nevio Tellatin, and others, reinforcing its position within the canon of modern Italian design.
Antonio Lupi’s legacy lies in the fusion of artisanal glassworking with forward-thinking industrial design—an approach that is clearly reflected in these elegant sconces.
