A refined set of four Model 422 dining chairs, designed by Helge Sibast in the 1960s and produced by Sibast Møbler, Denmark. Crafted from warm, richly toned Jatoba wood, these chairs embody the elegance and craftsmanship of mid-century Danish design.

The seats have been newly re-upholstered in high-quality black leather, offering a striking contrast with the sculptural wooden frames. Characterized by their tapered legs, gently curved backs, and understated sophistication, these chairs are both comfortable and visually striking — ideal for a modern or classic dining setting.

Designer — Helge Sibast (1921–1985)

Helge Sibast was a prominent figure in Danish mid-century furniture design. Trained as a cabinetmaker, he took over his family’s furniture workshop in the 1940s and transformed it into an internationally recognized design house. His work is distinguished by meticulous craftsmanship, sculptural silhouettes, and a balance between functionality and elegance. Sibast’s chairs, in particular, gained acclaim for their innovative forms and comfort, and remain highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts today.

Manufacturer — Sibast Møbler

Founded in 1908 by Helge’s father, Sibast Møbler grew from a small carpentry workshop into a respected Danish furniture manufacturer. During the mid-20th century, the company collaborated closely with Helge Sibast to produce a series of iconic chairs and tables that defined Danish modern aesthetics. Sibast pieces are celebrated for their exceptional build quality and timeless design, and continue to be produced to this day by the Sibast family.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Frames show a beautiful, even patina consistent with age. Seats have been newly upholstered.
