Hans-Jörg Glattfelder (Swiss, b. 1939)

Untitled Geometric Composition, 1971

Color screenprint on paper

Edition: 22/60, signed and dated in pencil, with dedication per Tiziana

Sheet: 51 × 51 cm (20.1 × 20.1 in)

Frame included

A striking example of Hans-Jörg Glattfelder’s early geometric abstraction, this rare 1971 print captures the artist’s fascination with structure, precision, and the spatial tensions of pure form. Executed in bold fields of green, blue, black, and white, the composition reflects Glattfelder’s transition from constructivist traditions to what he later described as “non-Euclidean metaphors”—visual investigations of space beyond classical geometry.

This work is hand-signed and numbered by the artist, with a personal dedication, per Tiziana. From a scarce edition of only 60 impressions, this is number 22.

Hans-Jörg Glattfelder (b. 1939, Zürich) is widely recognized as a leading figure in Concrete and Constructive art. His works are represented in international collections and have been exhibited in major institutions, including the Kunsthalle Basel, the Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zürich, and the Museo d’Arte Moderna di Roma. His art bridges rigorous formal investigation with poetic exploration of mathematics, optics, and perception.

The sheet is in excellent condition; the original plexiglass shows minor spotting but does not affect the print itself.

A rare opportunity to acquire an authentic, early edition work by one of Switzerland’s foremost geometric abstractionists.
