Ivory chess set Belgian Congo, 1930 Complete ivory chess set carved in traditional African style.

One side stained dark, the other natural ivory. The knights have the shape of crocodiles jumping up.

This set was part of the private collection of Mathieu and Ine Kloprogge, authors of various books on chess and its history.

Measurements: The King is 7.5 cm high and the pawn 4.5. The chessboard measures 31 x 31 cm.
